Automating your business

Random automations don't add up to a strategy. This session maps your operation, finds the highest-leverage opportunities, and gives you a prioritized roadmap you can execute on Monday.

THE PROBLEM

Why this matters

You've automated a few things. Now what?

You've automated a form notification here, a report there. It saves time, sure. But it doesn't feel like you've fundamentally changed how your business runs.

That's because picking off random tasks isn't a strategy. The businesses getting real results from AI aren't automating one thing at a time -- they've stepped back, mapped their operations, and found the bottlenecks that actually move the needle. One client found that automating their proposal process saved more time in a week than their previous five automations combined.

This workshop gives you that strategic view. By the end of the session, you'll know exactly where AI fits in your business and what to do first.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Outcomes

What you'll walk away with

Two focused hours of strategic work on your business. Not about your business -- on it.

A complete operations map

Your core business processes -- sales, delivery, support, back office -- documented in one place. Most owners have never seen this view.

Scored automation opportunities

Every opportunity ranked by impact, effort, and readiness. No guessing about what to do first.

A prioritized roadmap

What to automate first, second, and third. Tools, timelines, and dependencies included.

A repeatable framework

The same evaluation process works for any new opportunity. You'll use this long after the workshop.

This is for you if

  • You've done some automation but want a systematic approach to the whole business
  • You're a founder or operator responsible for how your company runs day to day
  • You want a clear roadmap, not just inspiration

THE FORMAT

How you'll learn

How you'll learn

Part strategy session, part working session. You'll think and you'll build.

Work on your business

Every exercise uses your actual operations. By end of session, you've done real strategic work -- not hypotheticals.

Small group, big conversations

Limited seats. You'll learn from other owners' operations too -- the cross-pollination is half the value.

Leave with artifacts

Operations map, scoring matrix, prioritized roadmap. Documents you'll reference for months, not notes you'll forget.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Who's teaching

Nick Basile

Founder, Markham Square

I've spent 15+ years building for the web as a software engineer and product designer. At Markham Square, I help businesses design and implement their AI automation strategy -- exactly the process we'll work through together.

I built this workshop because too many business owners were automating randomly. A task here, a notification there. The ones getting real results step back, look at the whole operation, and prioritize. That's what we'll do.

THE AGENDA

2 hours

What we'll cover

Two focused hours. Every minute is about your business.

  1. Map your operations

    40 min

Document your core business processes end to end. Most owners have never seen their operations in one place -- this alone is worth the session.

  2. Identify and score opportunities

    40 min

Flag where AI can reduce time, cost, or errors. Then score each opportunity by impact, effort, and risk so you focus on what matters.

  3. Build your roadmap

    30 min

Turn your prioritized list into a concrete plan. Which tools, what order, what dependencies, and what to skip for now.

  4. Review and next steps

    10 min

Present your roadmap, get feedback from the group and from Nick, and leave clear on what Monday morning looks like.

FAQ

Common questions

Will I actually build automations during the workshop?

This session is strategy, not building. You'll leave with a roadmap. If you want hands-on building, 'Build Your First AI Automation' is the complement -- do that one first or after, either works.

What should I bring?

A laptop and a solid understanding of how your business runs day to day. Process documentation is helpful if you have it, but most people don't -- we'll build it together.

Do I need to already be using AI?

No. The framework works whether you've automated ten things or zero. Starting with strategy actually saves you from automating the wrong things first.

How many people are in the workshop?

Small group. Everyone gets meaningful time on their own business and benefits from the group conversation.

Can I bring a team member?

Encouraged. Two perspectives on your operations makes the mapping more complete and the roadmap more realistic.

What's included?

The workshop, all materials and templates, and your completed operations map, scoring matrix, and roadmap in digital format.
