Newsletter digest
By Nick Basile
I subscribe to about a dozen newsletters. I was either skimming all of them badly or ignoring most of them entirely. This skill reads them for me and tells me what's worth paying attention to.
OVERVIEW
What it does
A daily briefing from your own reading list
Newsletter Digest connects to Gmail through Claude Cowork's MCP integration and grabs every newsletter that arrived in the last 24 hours. It reads all of them, finds the threads that run across sources, and compiles a digest.
You get the big themes, a few highlights per newsletter, and any links that are actually worth your time. The output goes straight to the conversation — copy it wherever you want.
It works with any newsletters in your Gmail inbox. No configuration needed — it detects newsletter-style emails automatically.

FAQ
Common questions
Which newsletters does it pick up?
Anything in your Gmail inbox from the last 24 hours that looks like a newsletter. It uses sender patterns and email structure to filter — you don't need to configure a list.
Can I change the digest format?
The output format is defined in the skill's markdown file. You can edit the summary structure, change how many highlights per source, or add your own sections.
Does it work with email providers other than Gmail?
Right now it uses the Gmail MCP integration. If your email provider has an MCP server, you could swap it in — the rest of the skill doesn't depend on Gmail specifically.
Where does the output go?
Straight to the conversation. It doesn't write files or modify anything on your system. Copy the digest wherever you want — notes app, journal, Slack, wherever.
